Favorite Artist Assignment Summary:
We have to find content that supports our view of our favorite artists during a web development course and give examples of their work with this task. While completing the assignment, paying attention to the quality of content and the copyright of the images and videos used was essential. Finally, inter the concluding article, our professor asked us to interview peers on campus and gather thoughts on the artist we selected. At the bottom of the page is an interview of two Aggies giving their opinions on Janelle Monae’s music. Though this process was multifaceted, I had a great time completing this project and making new friends.

My most favorite artist ever is Janelle Monae, with her unapologetic edgy style, bold dance moves, and unique singing voice to match allow her to stand out from the rest. The star’s most recent album “Dirty Computer,” paired with an “emotion film,” was released in April 2018. According to NPR, during the Billboard’s Women in music awards, Janelle Monae was referred to as the “Trailblazer of the year.”
After releasing her album ” Dirty Computer” in Spring 2018, it took her hit song ” Make Me Feel” no time to get on the top of 100 Billboard Charts. Not only is she an incredible vocal artist – but she is also an outstanding actress. Monae will be the lead in the new movie ” Antebellum” produced by “Get Out” director Jordan Peele. Though I am very fond of Janelle Monae- I took them to the yard. I asked a couple of students on North Carolina A&T University’s campus to see what the Aggies thought about the works created by Janelle Monae.
Aggies Perspective

Interviewees: Kayla Bamberg and Jordan Harper
I got the chance to speak with two students Kayla Bamberg ( red shirt) and Jordan Harper ( blue jean jacket) about their take on Janelle Monae’s music.
Speaking with Kayla first I asked her ” What are some aspects about Janelle Monae’s music that stand out to you? With a gorgeous smile, she replied ” I like how intimate her music is, and how daring she is with the messages she adds in her music.”
Next, I spoke with Jordan and first asked him if he listened to Janelle Monae’s music. He replied with a charming grin “I have heard a few of her songs, and I have to say the one thing I like about her as an artist is her level of creativity. Compared to other artists, she is really out of the box. “.
In close, Janelle Monae is a one-of-a-kind artist who creates music that will sell out stadiums worldwide. I am thankful that an artist like Janelle is not afraid to use their platform to promote growth, inspire others, and encourage us to believe in who we are just the way we are.
PROPOSAL PROJECT
The Sally Beauty Project was an assignment during my public relations and strategy course. This assignment required the student to work in three teams to create a proposal for an online campaign for a company from the provided list. Sally Beauty spoke to me the loudest from all of the companies mentioned. After doing several layers of research with my team, we created the #HairGoalSB. #HairGoalsSB is a project that creates a collaborative environment that celebrates black people and people of color in educating those on how to maintain, style braids their hair while also allowing customers to speak out on the quality of the products.
This assignment allowed me to lead a team and delegate responsibilities amongst group members while also allowing constructive criticism to better the overall project. Taking time to learn the process of preparing a mock proposal was very interesting because of the multifaceted endeavors in researching previous online campaigns and ensuring that all the information given is accurate and current. Though the process was challenging, it was funny and has piqued one’s interest in gaining more information on public relations strategy and campaign planning.

Brochures
The final portion of my portfolio consists of Trifold brochures for two black-owned companies. These brochures were created to allow business owners to provide interested customers with products and services while also staying true to each company’s original brand, style, and charm. The two businesses have thrived in Greensboro, High Point, and Winston Salem.
The process for each brochure required me to do research and the product and services of each company, comments and feedback of services from clients, also pay great attention to detail regarding color themes, stencils, and designs.
